The purpose of this study is to investigate the Amish lifestyle about their history, religion, heritage, culture, clothing, wedding, belief, education, and farming. The Amish, which is called the plain people, came from Germany to North America to seek for the freedom of religion after the Anabaptist movement; also, they brought their traditional way of life and beliefs with them. As they consider a general taboo on modern technological conveniences, most Old Order Amish homes are not furnished with electricity and electronic labor-saving devices and appliances. The main reason is they worry that these modern implements would constitute a connection with the world and would violate the Bible’s instruction not to be “conformed with the world.” And they do separate from the rest of the world physically and socially, part of this may be caused by the belief that association with others -- often referred to as "The English" -- may be polluting. As a result of this belief and insistence, these unique people hold much fascination for the outside world and make the outsider interested more in their mysterious life.
